Fic meme

discworld - death
Gacked this from [livejournal.com profile] a_white_rain, because it looked fun and I'm super-behind in my word count.

Under the cut are the current themes for [livejournal.com profile] 31_days. Chose one and a character/pairing and I'll try and write something for it. You can also ask for original if you're interested in seeing what my pretty little brain comes up with myself.

As far as fandoms go, if it isn't "BSG," "Lost" or "Alias," there's a good chance I watch it. (I grow tired of making huge lists. The odds anyone'll ask me for something I've never heard of seem low.) All I ask is that you PLEASE don't ask me for Spike. Please? I like him, I just can't write him. He hates me. We're allergic to each other.

ETA:

NO SYLAR!

For once, doing [livejournal.com profile] ninth_wonders didn't take over an hour and didn't break my brain.

This makes me very, very happy.

In celebration of my happiness, anyone want comment fic?

Title: How You Got Here
Written for [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon
Author: Heather ([livejournal.com profile] darlas_mom)
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] milleniumrex
Fandom: Heroes
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Season one and two in general, with some references to the tie-in comics.
Warnings: Nonlinear second person POV.
Summary: My challenge was "A world where Peter's gone mad from absorbing too many powers, and has imposed [sic] a absolute dictatorship over the world in a misguided attempt to perfect it. West is leading the resistance, and Claire is torn between her brother and her lover." The story I ended up telling was the story of Peter's madness and how he ends up imposing a dictatorship and destroying the world. West and Claire are here, but it's not their story. It's Peter's.
Author's Notes: Super-special awesome I-owe-you-for-life thanks to [livejournal.com profile] s8219 and [livejournal.com profile] lady1raven for their generous help and contributions. Also? This fic is not anywhere as long or inclusive as I wanted it to be, and it has the worst telling-instead-of-showing problem of anything I've ever written, but frankly, if I worked on it anymore, I was going to go drown myself in a lake. This story nearly KILLED me.

Gacking a meme from [livejournal.com profile] kita0610, because I am bored and I haven't posted in nearly a week:

Ask me a question about one of my stories. It can be absolutely anything in any fic and I will tell you the honest-to-god answer. Don’t hold back. Ask about my plans for future work if you want to, but keep in mind, I may not have anything firm/definite yet. Anything. Whatever you ask, I will try my best to answer.

My fic can all be found under my fic tag--either because it's on my LJ or because there are links to it from my LJ. Also? Some of the posts tagged fic don't look like they have fic in them; in such cases, there is fic hiding in the comments.

Also, as long as you're here on the subject of fic, here's a question from me: I've written in seventeen fandoms so far; what do YOU think should be the next one?

Sirius was tired. His soul ached. He wanted to curl his fingers into claws and rend himself into ragged bits just to make the hollow feeling in his chest stop.

But he musn't do that. He had to remember.

I didn't do it.

--James' face, unrecognizable under mortar and broken glass--

No--

--Lily was curled up, he couldn't tell if the red on her neck was her hair or--

No--

--one tiny hand was visible under splinters of bassinet, he could hear Harry fretfully wailing--

No.

This place wouldn't get to him. The pain wouldn't get to him. He just had to fight. To hold on.

I'm innocent. I'm innocent.

I don't know why I decided to do this...the idea hit me out of nowhere, and it's probably pure narcissism on my part to expect anyone to read it. But in case any of you were ever curious about some of the really big moments in my life...here some of 'em are.

Who wants to have a Blackout Party In The Bomb Shelter Drabblethon for the night?!

ETA: I'll start.

In another two minutes, they are going to miss the call for marks. This scene is important, this scene matters--

--this scene will never be as important to David as the taste of Vincent's tongue when his make-up is smeared. It's cramped as hell, hiding in one corner behind the set, hands and mouths and teeth and oh, God, fingers digging into his back at the same time that sharp hipbones press into his waist. He will never remember how they got into this position.

"Jesus, you're killing me." He whispers against Vincent's mouth.

He chuckles. "You love it."

It's not fair. The boy cheats by way of facts.

"Guys!" A voice David identifies as Tim's yells across the set. "We're ready for you!"

"Shit." David hisses frantically as they pull apart and begin fighting with zippers and shirt hems, hauling everything back into place.

"Guys! Come on!"

Vincent untangles himself easily and returns to his marker, settling himself down with a faintly evil grin while David adjusts his leather jacket and heads to his own mark on the other side.

"What took you guys so long?" Tim asks in annoyance.

It's a rhetorical question, but it doesn't stop Vincent from smiling angelically at him and replying, without missing a beat, "Last day make-out session."

Minear rolls his eyes. "Cute. Okay, take it from where we left off in three, two..."

Vincent's face transforms immediately--heart-rendingly--as he delivers his line

("My dead mother couldn't love me.")

and David is secretly really glad that Angel is supposed to look hurt and dumbfounded here, because otherwise, his own dumbstruck admiration of Vincent's acting chops might've been really misplaced.

You'd never have known he had just made out with a guy playing his character's father in a corner for the past fifteen minutes.

ETA again: It's not supposed to be good, it's supposed to be funny. ::realizes this plan may have failed spectacularly::

Okay, guys, I am bored and sick and have just been given a brilliant idea by [livejournal.com profile] runcible on how to combat my sick-on-Halloween blues. Announcing...

THE TRICK-OR-TREAT MEME

Here's how you play. Leave a comment (like ringing a doorbell!) and I will give you a goodie! It could be an icon. It could be a drabble. It could be a prompt to write your own drabble. It could be a link to my favorite site, my favorite fic, my favorite YouTube vid--who knows?! That's the point! It's a surprise!

Feel free to spread the love, I am really bored. ;-)

THE END!

It's over! It's done with! FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, HALLELUJAH, FREE AT LAST!

::sings:: Everybody's free...to sleep...

So for the benefit of everyone who filtered me off their flist yesterday to avoid the spam, here is a round-up of everything I did for Blogathon. Lots of fic got written for lots of people. Some people, even people who were promised, didn't get them, though, and I am SO, SO, SO SORRY for that--there weren't a lot of beta resources that time of night and some of you, I really didn't want to post something of quality best described as "marginally acceptable." You will get something in the coming weeks if you got gypped today. I'm really sorry.

As far as the fic goes, though, I really ran the gamut this time: het, slash, gen, crossover, AU, incest, threesome and utter CRACK. Also, I wrote in fandoms I have never written in before, or have only dabbled in once or twice! It was all very broadening. :-) So, for your perusal, the fic, separated by fandom:

Angel

Water - A Connor/Fred for [livejournal.com profile] fodian, in which Connor watches Fred in the shower.

Gift of Grace - vignette - A Cordelia gen for [livejournal.com profile] siliconalleycat, set in the universe of her marvelous fic, Year of Grace.

Moment in Time - A Connor-and-Holtz-in-Quor-Toth gen for [livejournal.com profile] m3sektet, in which I played with the issue of how you fucking spell "Steven."

Driver's Ed - A Connor and Gunn interaction piece for [livejournal.com profile] hateable, set in my fake memories AU series, in which Gunn teaches Connor how to drive. Or tries to.

Red - A Connor and Drusilla interaction piece for [livejournal.com profile] stoney321, set post-"NFA."

Firefly

Dandelion - River and Simon's last kiss, written for [livejournal.com profile] bitter_crimson.

Good Omens

Kissing Cousins - A Crowley/Aziraphale kiss for [livejournal.com profile] soulstar.

Harry Potter

A Black Family Wedding - A Sirius/Anrdomeda piece for [livejournal.com profile] rinsbane. No, it is not their wedding.

Birth - A Malfoy gen about Draco's birth for [livejournal.com profile] runcible.

Heroes

Voyeur - A Noah/Sandra Bennet smut with implied Noah/Claude. For [livejournal.com profile] lady1raven.

Homestar Runner

Man Down - A Homestar Runner drabble of UTTER CRACK written for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_helps.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Gestation - A "POTC: AWE" Elizabeth drabble written for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_helps.

X-Men

Simulate - A "Cable being inappropriate with Jean" piece for [livejournal.com profile] likeadeuce.

Project: X-Men - Feral - vignette An "X-Men" AU Scott/Rogue piece for [livejournal.com profile] katers007.

Project: X-Men - Commencement - vignette An "X-Men" AU scene with Scott being jealous of Warren for [livejournal.com profile] angelofthenlght.

Crossovers

The Man In Question - A "Torchwood"/"Angel" crossover written for [livejournal.com profile] lafemmedarla. Jack/Darla/Dru.

One-Night Stand - A "Supernatural"/"BtVS" crossover written for [livejournal.com profile] exsequar. Sam/Faith.

Waiting - A "Supernatural"/"Drive" crossover written for [livejournal.com profile] green_wing. Gen. Sam and Winston.

Candy Mountain - An UTTER CRACK drabble crossing over "Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and "Charlie the Unicorn." (I was REALLY tired.)

Voice posts

Not fic. These are the places where I made voice posts to break up the monotony.

First voice post, out of sheer boredeom.

Second voice post, right before I took a dinner break with Darla.

Third voice post, in which I SING

And that's really everything of note. Everything else is me talking about how tired I am. :-)

You know that level of tired you get when everything starts to be really, really funny?

I'm there.

So here you are, an actual 100-word drabble, crossing over "Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" with "Charlie the Unicorn."

Title: Project X-Men: Commencement vignette

I posted ten minutes late on purpose this time, to get my schedule back on track. :-) No, seriously.

This one is for [livejournal.com profile] katers007, who likes it when I write ze "X-Men," and I almost never do.

Title: Project: X-men - Feral vignette
Fandom: X-Men AU
Disclaimer: "X-Men" is the property of Stan Lee and Marvel comics.
A/N: This is set in my as-yet-unfinished, unposted "X-Men" AU series called "Project: X-Men," from the chapter called "Feral." It's the second vignette in the series I've ever posted, and like the last one, it's Scott/Rogue.

Disclaimer: "BtVS" belongs to Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, the WB (CW) and UPN. "Supernatural" belongs to CW, but I don't know who the creators/wrters/producers are.
Rating: R
A/N: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] katers007 and [livejournal.com profile] evening_muse for tag team beta.
